In 1907 building of the original structure of this courthouse began. Later, when more space was needed, new wings were added to the East and West Sides, giving us the building we see today.

There a two barn quilts in front of the courthouse and a memorial to the doughboy of World War I that is in need of repair. There is also a time capsule on the grounds.
