The 1996 movie Evita was filmed on location in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A key scene of the movie was just after Juan Perón won the election and his wife the very popular Eva Perón came to the balcony of the Casa Rosada (the office of the executive branch -- The Pink House) and gave a speech to the people who were enthusiastically gathered in the Plaza De Mayo below.
The picture gallery includes pictures of the Casa Rosada, the Plaza De Mayo and movie screen captures from the Evita DVD, starring Madonna (Eva Perón), Antonio Banderas (Ché), and Jonathan Pryce (Juan Perón). This scene in the movie is when Evita is singing the famous "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina."
The movie follows closely the story line and music from the original stage musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber / Tim Rice. The song "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina" as sung by Julie Covington reach number one in the UK charts in February 1977.
