Grave of Fred J. Knauf - near Nesquehoning, PA - Out of Place Graves on Waymarking.com

This out of the way shrine to Lieut. Knauf is located near the Broad Mountain Fire Tower in the western portion of State Game Lands 141 atop Broad Mountain. There is an American Flag atop a memoreial cairn and Lieut. Knauf's grave. The area is fenced in, please respect that.

Oddly enough, Lieut. Knauf's date of death is the same as the legendary Jim Thorpe (buried nearby), although Mr. Thorpe passed on some 11 years later.
