Barb's Fish and Ships is strictly a seasonal take-out restaurant. It caters to the tourist crowd that frequents Fishermans Wharf during the summer months. The restaurant floats on a barge anchored to the wharf. I am not sure when the first opened up but they have been around for as long as I can remember and I've lived here since the early 80's. Unfortunately it was closed for the season when I dropped by today. Their website is at (

During the season there are usually long line ups and the customers will just pull up a seat on one of the many benches in the area to chow down on their meal. It has been termed one of the best fish and chips shops in Victoria. Check out the following review. (
