This statue is considered a memorial to the wild mustangs that once roamed the plains and mountains of the central United States. It also symbolizes the free spirits of Coloradians.
John Venezia, who commisioned the statue believed in the people of this nation and developed communities in the region while still providing access to the great and beautiful wild places in the area. Abundant Greenways, Wildlife Habitat Areas and many trails.
There are wild herds still roaming the mountains and high valleys of Colorado and Wyoming.
