The First United Presbyterian Church was built in 1927. The Presbyterian congregation in Jefferson City dates to June 15, 1834 when 12 gathered with Scottish missionary Pastor Robert McAffee and formed the congregation. The current church building occupies the site of an earlier building which was built following the Civil War. The building was constructed in Classic Revival style, the parish hall was added in 1994.
