The United States Post Office and Courthouse was built from 1932 to 1934. The Neo-Classical style building was designed the the architectural firm of Klipstein and Rathmann along with Edgerton Swartwout. The building continues to serve as both a post office and federal courthouse. The courthouse is used by the US District Court of Western Missouri. The courts will move from the building when a new federal courthouse is completed in 2011 with construction started November 2008.
