Tri-Cities Regional Airport was originally opened on November 5, 1937 as McKellar Field, dedicated for Senator Kenneth McKellar, an ardent supporter of aviation in the State of Tennessee. The airport is jointly owned and managed by a commission representing the "Tri-Cities" of Bristol, Johnson City, and Kingsport plus Sullivan County. Current flights will connect you to one of eight hubs serviced by these airlines: Allegiant Air, Delta Connection, Northwest Airlink, and US Airways Express.
