This is one of the oldest posting boxes in Coventry dating back to around 1880 and is one of the few remaining examples of a Victorian wall box.

"This is one of the oldest posting boxes in Coventry dating back to around 1880 and is one of the few remaining examples of a Victorian wall box. It was withdrawn from service many years ago for security reasons but has been retained in its original site as part of the heritage of the City. The nearest posting boxes are in Hertford Street and Trinity Street."
