Brough Castle is on south west outskirts of Church Brough village. A short walk along paved path to English Heritage protected ruin.

Oldest parts of the castle date back to 1100, when this area was occupied by a Scottish invader William Rufus. Later both Brougham and Brough castles were given to Robert de Vieupoint by the King. But by 1254 it was ruined again. Lady Anne Clifford took control in 1643 and repaired all her castles.
Entry is free and is at N 054 31.285 W 002 19.265. Parking is in the village square of Church Brough, very close to entrance coordinates. There is a tea shop near entrance gate. There are no interpretive boards.
