This is one of my favorite Christmas movies. The house where this film was made was purchased by the current owner from eBay. He had it renovated and then opened it to the public for tours. The owner sells replicas of the leg lamp, as seen in the movie.
They have tried to recreate the scenes within the house as best as possible with period funiture. Most of the indoor scenes were actually done on a soundstage. The parade and department store scenes were filmed in downtown Cleveland on the square and in Higbees, a former local department store.
They are celebrating the 25th year of the movie release this winter.
