The Renfro Valley Barn Dance was where many classic country artists got their start in the midpart of last century. Regular shows are still held here.
This section of the Dixie Highway runs along the Wilderness Road, a route that Daniel Boone blazed to reach the Ohio River from the Cumberland Pass. This was also a buffalo and Indian trail.
