The church at Bampton Grange was rebuilt on the site of a former church, and is dedicated to St Patrick. It stands opposite the pub.

The earliest record of a church here, is in 1170, when "the church was appropriated to the abbey of Shap about the year 1170". (
visit link) But what you see nowadays is the rebuilt structure from 1726, and more in 1885. Some of the windows on the south side have stained glass. The font is dated 1662 but is thought to be Norman. The parish has produced two bishops. One in the late 1600's who was Bishop of Lincoln and London, the other was Archbishop of Dublin (Catholic) in 1553.
There is a plaque inside about the clock, which was given by Jane Dalton in 1909. The list of vicars goes back to 1300, although there is a gap between 1378 and 1535. Inside on the north wall is a plan of the churchyard naming the occupant of each grave.
