Oak Alley Plantation - Vacherie, LA
N 30° 00.400 W 090° 46.567

Also known as "Bon Sejour". Probabaly one of the most, if not the most photographed plantation home. Stunning size and grandeur. When you just stand on levee looking at it, you get a feeling that this is a special place.

It is hard to put into words this plantation. The Oak trees, they say, are 100 years OLDER than the house. There is 28 trees, almost perfectly and evenly spaced apart, making the "alley". It really is almost dream-like when you see it, and just get in the area. It is truly almost just like a living thing.
The pics were taken from the Levee and front gate. The home was closed on my visit, but is USUALLY opened for tours. There were alot of busses in the parking area, so I figured there was a special function ongoing.
There is ALOT of info online about this home. I will just leave it to you to read what you want.
Here are a feww links I recommend, ALONG with the offical website, listed as secondary site below.
