Gilberts Mills was named after Andrus Gilbert the second person to settle in this area. He moved here from Oneida, New York in 1819 and soon had a profitable mill up and running. He was buried in this cemetery along with many other early pioneer settlers to this area. This cemetery is located not far from the former Gilberts Mills Presbyterian Church. There are approx. 250 graves in this cemetery, many dating back to the early 1800's.
