The Harrisville Historic District covers most of the mill buildings, boarding houses, churches and other strutures that make up the town of Harrisville. The village is set in a rural section of New Hampshire currently popular for summer cottages. The following is a sampling of what is in the center:

Cheshire Mills - a complex of buildings that include a granite structure with a belfry.
Harris Mill - Another mill in town that now houses the Harrisville Designs company store.
Congregational Church
Various residences
and various boarding houses.

The buildings are in good shape for their age. Harrisville Designs is a non-profit company that comes closest to industry in this town. Other small operations may exist in the Cheshire Mills.

There is a walking tour map and the book, "Factory Under the Elms" that you can purchase in the company store.
