Located on the left-over concrete ramp of the long demolished "high bridge" from Lyons over the Chicago Sanitary & Ship Canal to Summit, IL. Somewhat precarious location, so be careful on your visit.

The bridge carried car and interurban rail traffic over the Chicago Sanitary & Ship Canal. (This massive canal was completed in 1900 and allowed the Chicago River flow to be redirected from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi.)

This site was also along the long abandoned Illinois & Michigan Canal, which has been filled in from here northeast to Chicago.
