County of Caboose: Barry County.
Location of Caboose: US-37, deep in city park, Monett.
Caboose Built: 1938.
Repainted and re-braked in shop SN Nov. 1974.
Along side the caboose is the tomb stone for Hobo. I cannot find any exact information on this Hobo dog. Since the dog died in 1980, we can assume this dog may have been named after the TV series "The Littlest Hobo". But since that TV show aired originally in 1963, it was not based on this dog. The TV show made a big come back in 1979 in syndication.
Current Use:
Park Display. Doors are fixed in the open position, and entry and visits available at all times. Park is open sunrise to sunset, except with permit and special occasions.
