Chuckchansi Park was constructed by the City of Fresno as a means of redeveloping the downtown core of the City. When construction started there was no team committed to playing in it. The Fresno diamond Group coaxed the management of the Tucson Toros to move their team, when they did Pro Ball was back in Fresno. The Fresno Grizzlies are the Triple A Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The owners later purchased the Fresno Fuego (United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League). The stadium was formerly known as Grizzlies Stadium and the name changed in a 15-year/$16 Million with the Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino.
