The 150-acre park includes the renovated Blue Ball Barn, rock climbing by permit, bike and walking trails, picnic areas, the Weldin Plantation ruins and a specially-designed accessible playground. Park entrance fees are in effect from March 1 through Nov. 30.
The park, conveniently located off I-95 at Route 202, is open from 8 a.m. until sunset, year-round.
This wooded park began with 123 acres deeded to the city in 1910, making it the last tract added to the Wilmington parks. By 1996 it had grown to 145 acres.

Numerous interpretive kiosks and signs educate visitors about the history of the park and the former mill that bordered the park, as well as discribing the geological formations and plantlife.
