The Rye Nature Center includes a self-guided nature trail, many birds and a bird checklist, an education center, a butterfly house, an old quarry, and scheduled events, classes and camps. Grounds & trails are open dawn to dusk 365 days per year.
Restrooms available during office hours. Buildings include the Edith Read Education Building, which houses exhibits, classrooms, offices and restrooms; a Butterfly house that is open May thru October, a Maple Sugar Shack, open select weekends in February and March and an outdoor classroom. The website below will provide maps for self-guided tours of the entire facility, plus lists of upcoming classes, workshops and exhibits.
I indicated live animals due to the butterfly house; there are no other contained live animals.
