Pal's Sudden Service is a regional chain based in Kingsport, TN. It is the only food service company to have won the Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award. A typical "Pals" looks like Waymark WM4VR4 with oversized hot dog, fries, and soft drink on a teal green building. This second location for founder Pal Barger was set up differently in 1962 using this muffler man holding a large hamburger. The signature chain hamburger is called a "Big Pals".

Footnote: In the 12/8/2011 Kingsport Times-News article, Pal Barger recalls that the "Big Man" costed $1,700 which would be around $12-15,000 today.

Directions: Pal's Sudden Service, I-181 to Stone Drive exit. East about a mile, then north about a mile on Lynn Garden Drive. Southbound side of the road.

Excellent food, but somewhat pricey. The sweet tea is famous in the area.
