The Tuxedo Cheverly Fire Department is a Paid Fire Department within the The Prince George's County Fire Department & Rescue Services. The County is a combination Volunteer/Paid Department with about 49 stations. Tuxedo Cheverly has a long extensive history of fire service in the community and county. It serves the small community of Tuxedo and the Town of Cheverly in suburban Maryland near the Washington, DC Line. The station houses: Engine Co., Ladder Truck, Heavy Rescue Squad, Hazmat Unit, Water Rescue, Fireboat and Cave In/High Angle Rescue, Tactical Unit Bus and Ambulance. PGFD works weekdays 7 to 3PM, and Shift work 1 Day on, 3 Days off.
