WMUR-TV first hit the airwaves in March of 1954. Started by former New Hampshire Governor Francis P. Murphy, WMUR was New Hampshire's first television station broadcasting a wide range of live programs including daily newscasts, local game shows, and movies.
Many current Boston and other personalities got their start here. It is an ABC affiliate that competes with the 3 major network outlets in Boston.
