Ingleborough is one of the three peaks of Yorkshire,and stands at nearly 2400 feet,it's ascent is a popular walk from the villages of Ingleton and Clapham.

The Mountain of Ingleborough is basically a Limestone plinth 800 feet thick and capped with a cone of repeated layers of shale,this is very free draining and water drains through the shale to the Limestone caves and potholes which lie beneath,the most well known and largest cavern is Gaping Gill,which is reputed to be big enough to hold St.Paul's Cathedral,this Gill is a popular stop off point on the way to the summit.
