This huge facility is a drop off location for recyclable materials including aluminum, steel, glass, cardboard and paper. They accept personal quantities of hazardous materials such as batteries, fluorescent lightbulbs, and consumer electronics. They are a buy-back center for deposit beverage bottles (CRV). However. their larger function is to screen and reduce residential garbage. Recyclable materials are recovered from the garbage truck loads before the unusable remainder is compacted and reloaded on trucks for delivery to the county landfill.
