This is the original mausoleum built for Henry Shaw. The story goes that he didn't like the way that the metal roof caused the stonework to stain so he had another one built. Instead of Henry's body, this mausoleum contains the sculpture "Victory of Science Over Ignorance". The mausoleum that he is buried in (also an octagonal building) is about 100 feet south of this building.
