Kingsport's Oldest Southern Baptist Church on east side of town is now under the wings of Indian Springs Baptist Church.

Glenwood Baptist Church was chartered March 18, 1887, which is some 30 years before the city of Kingsport was formed. The original church building was destroyed by fire January 1, 1939. Immediately, a new church was constructed which you see in the picture.
Not able to sustain itself, the church around 2010 or 2011 became an extension campus under the Indian Springs Baptist Church. Tiger Brooks is the pastor for this campus, along with being a DJ on local WCQR 88.3FM Christian radio station.
"Good News from Glenwood" radio ministry is heard every Sunday morning at 9:00 on 94.3 FM in the Kingsport area, 97.7 FM in the Johnson City area and 97.9 FM in the Bristol area as well as on AM 1400, 1490 and 1590.
