A raised wooden platform sits atop a former radar installation a few hundred feet inland from the Atlantic Ocean, and allows the birder an unobstructed view of the surrounding dunes.
Cape Henlopen is situated along the Atlantic Flyway and features several different bird habitats - including ocean & bay, dunes, fresh & salt-water wetlands, and forested areas.
A hawk watch is conducted from this location in Apr/May & Sep/Oct, and almost 300 species can be found in the area throughout the year.
