Opening in 1979, this is a combined station with EMT services as well as fire trucks. Excerpt from their website below.
"Our station serves the communities of Rundle, Pineridge, Whitehorn, Temple, Monterey, Monterey Park, Coral Springs, Castleridge and Falconridge.
Station No. 22 is one of the busier halls in The City of Calgary. The population in our coverage area is larger than the cities of Red Deer or Lethbridge. With such a vast, diverse district and large population, we have a heavy volume of traffic that keeps our tanker/emergency rescue unit quite busy."
The station also offers several community service related services such as blood pressure screening, sand for use in winter, bulk water purchase and they participate in the annual residential smoke detector program. I used to live just down the road from the station and I can vouch for the fact that they are very busy.
