There are several benches like this, built in the shape of a hot red pepper, located in a park area in front of the Red Pepper Distribution Center in the town of Goesan, heart of Korea's prime hot read pepper gowing area. It is the best!

The symbol for Goesan is a green stylized Chinese symbol for mountain with the flowing waters of rivers and a red dot symbolizing the sun, although one could also think of it as representing the red peppers which are the pride and joy of this region, reputed to be the best in all of Korea.
The town of Goesan is nestled among the mountains of central Korea, not far from Lake Chungju, hot springs, and superb hiking. There are three national parks in this county.
I call him the "pepper guy," but this character is "a symbol of Goesan which brings into relief "Im Ggeok Jeong", a legendary righteous hero, who took sides with the commoners and fought against injustice and corruption in the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty.
The character was designed in such fashion as to show off his handsome appearance and his high-spirited and strong leadership."

Sit on this pepper, don't eat it!
