"A Remote Control Astronomical Observatory for Education and Recreation in Louisiana". I visited on Sat. Sept. 27, 2008. I do not know much about the educational or club usage (How or when they use it), but site is open to public on Friday and Saturday nights at 6:00PM LOCAL time (CST). It is also opened on "special" Astronomical occurances, like meteor showers, etc.. On friday nights they have a small educational session, usually on or related to what they will view in the sky that night. The night I went, they spoke and taught about the moon, and the main viewing that night was veiwing a full moon, craters, "Moon seas", etc... WELL worth a trip, and fun and educational for adults and childern alike. Telescope is a joint project of BREC (The Recreation & Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge) , LSU (Louisiana State University), and BRAS ( Baton Rouge Astronomical Society)
