To honor the living and to remember the dead, we, the citizens of Kingsport, pay tribute to all men and women who have dedicated their lives in faithful and honorable service to the United States of America. We pledge our eternal gratitude to those who are presently serving and to the veterans who have unselfishly served their country in times of armed conflict, full-scale war, and peace. For their sacrifices, including the supreme sacrifice of giving their lives while protecting the inherent rights of each citizen - the greatest of these being equality, justice, and freedom - we are thankful.
