Before it became WLFE and moved to this building, it was WWSR-FM, the first automated rock station in Vermont.

No wonder they changed the calls: industry folk in the area used to refer to it as

"World's Worst Sounding Radio"

That includes me, and I worked there back in the early Seventies, until shortly after the automation came in. It sounded a lot better when it was live, with a very progressive music mix. And, of course, my prodigious presence :-).
