This Dam is more commonly known to the locals as Rodman Dam. It has been recently named for the Senator since he was instrumental in save the nearby resivoir from destruction.

The Oklawaha River was dammed to create Rodman Resivoir for the now defunct Cross Florida Barge Canal. This dam is one of the remaining artifacts to this great Government Boondoggle. The side affect has been one of the top 10 bass fishing lakes in the State of Florida. As well as a great birdwatching and nature area.
