Description of Memorial:
Brick "fireplace" monument, angled against the old court house. Inset with a copper plaque.
This old court house is now owned by the Phelps County Historical Society, and the rent office space (full) to attorneys and such to acquire income to restore the old building. Since it is within 50 yards of the New Court House, it is active.
On the front lawn of the old courthouse is this memorial, and a Civil War marker, relaying the information of that war in this county.
