Those who love birds flock to St. Lucie. No matter where you travel, you’re likely to spot a new species for your logbook. Our combination of coastal and inland venues, with a wide variety of trees and other habitats, makes this an unusually rich destination for serious Florida birdwatching.
Fort Pierce Inlet State Park, Bear Point Sanctuary, Pinelands Natural Area and Savannas Preserve State Park appear on the Great Florida Birding Trail of superior sites for viewing feathered friends. Scrub-jays, bitterns, plovers, willets, wood storks and night herons appear along with a flock of subtropical species and neotropical migrants.
