The Harris Woolen Mill is in ruins, but maintained by the Grand River Conservation Authority in Rockwood Conservation Area. The ruined mill is a popular location for wedding photographers and park visitors. The mill has also been a backdrop for movie shoots and other photo shoots. The mill used power provided by a small dam above the waterfall on the Eramosa River nearby.
The mill was founded in 1867. This wooden mill burned down as was replaced by the current stone structure in 1884. The mill ceased operations in 1925 due to competition from Hespeler (Cambridge) and Toronto. The structure was again burned during attempts to remove machinery in 1967.
