This church was the first Methodist Church to be built on the NSW North Coast, and was one of the first building in the area to be built by voluntary labour (as opposed to convicts).
This church was originally built in 1845 as a Wesleyan Methodist Church. Since then the church building became part of the Uniting Church of Australia in 1977. The church can be visited by the public, however opening hours are very short (see below), and is only open Mon-Fri.
The church is now listed by the National Trust of Australia.
