Manufactured by Howard @ Co, Boston, 1889, this clock stood in front of jewerly stored owned and operated by Charles N. Hancher in the 1200 block of Market Street in Wheeling since 1890. It remains a downtown Wheeling landmark primarily due to the efforts of Ray Young. Gleen White has restored and maintains the clock's movements. A project of the Wheeling National Heritage Area Corporation, its restoration and placement here in 1998 was possible due to the participation and generosity of many local businesses and individuals. (from sign installed in July 2008)
