The Hulbert Observatory, along with the rest of the museum, was constructed in the late 1920s-early 1930s. Its six-inch refracting telescope was purchased by Judge Henry Schoolcraft Hulbert in 1927.
The observatory is free with museum admission. Viewing hours are Friday evening, 8:30 to 10pm, and Sunday afternoon, 1 to 4pm, both weather permitting.

Closed Easter Day, Independence Day, Labor Day through Sept. 13, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day and New Year's Eve and Day.
