Victorian post box set into the outside wall of the old station buildings of Heathfield Station [now dis-used].
The buildings are now a shop.
The box is in very good condition and the makers name, W. T. Allen & Co., is clear.
Tell us about the area the post box is situated.: The box is set into the outside wall of the old station buildings near to the overbridge which spanned the railway.
Close by is the old tunnel under Heatfield High Street.
This is where the country's first natural gas deposits were found in 1895.
