This is one of the new bells that was installed in 2005 as a result of the efforts of Keith Robinson, Principal Landscape Architect of Caltrans. It is at a large pull-out with an emergency Call Box (number noted in Title). There is a large boulder a few feet away, which is in the submission photograph. The views of the canyon to the west are quite nice from here, but note that the pull-out is signed for emergency use only. Take care entering and leaving the pull-out, if you stop.
