Description of Memorial:
Old City Brick building was removed and the land was donated by Noland and Mae Boyle to the Merchants Association for the express purpose of this memorial. Three flag poles, a central polished black marble monument and 6 polished black marble benches. 4 benches with backs for dedication and sponsors. The two backless benches were reserved for two families specific recognition of their military contributions. Marble tiled deck, with some stone tiles carrying the dedication and recognition of sponsorships. All is contained within a black wrought iron fence.

Large, first rate, and well done.

I was running from one county to the next on a historic marker outing. I planned to be in Hickory County, but headed north for the Butterfield Stage Relay Station in Quincy. I didn't even know this town existed. I do now. I stumbled upon this Memorial, and was glad I did.
