The Oregon City Station is a stop for the Amtrak Cascade trains service, which runs from Eugene to Vancouver, BC and points in between. Amtrak's long distance train (the Coast Starlight) does not stop here, however it would be possible to connect with the Starlight in Portland or Salem.
The future plan for this station is to install a larger depot building currently located just down the street. This will give a much more comfortable place to wait for trains than the current small shelter.
Across the street from the station is the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center; the Center has numerous displays and shows a movie concerning the pioneers moving west to the 'promised land'. A great deal of information can be found here about local and regional history. It turns out that the land the Station and the Center is located on was the place where the pioneers would camp out in their wagons while they located and claimed their homestead in the Willamette Valley. It was truly the end of the trail, although you would never know that to see it today.
