Two park benches flank a stone with a brass plaque in a nicely landscaped area between the two town hall buildings.
Plaque inscription: "On March 6, 1965, two Vermont A.N.G. aviators lost their lives when their F-89 Scorpion crashed in a field at Taft Corners. These benches are dedicated to the memory of Col. Robert P. Goyette [and] Lt. Jeffrey B. Pollack both of Burlington, Vermont."
