The Ghosts and the Paranormal website describes the haunted house (

'Willington Manor
The Right Honourable Joseph Bradshaw Godber, a former Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, lives with his wife and sons at nearby Willington Manor, a gracious seven-bedroomed Elizabethan house that has been in the possession of the Godber family for many years.
At one time it belonged to Sir John Gostwick, Master of Hounds to King Henry VIII, but having twice been burnt down and rebuilt over the centuries, it is now largely Georgian in aspect.
Mr Godber has not seen or heard the ghost but Mrs Godber has heard it many times. There is no story or legend to account for the noises although they may possibly be connected with a skeleton found bricked up in a wall during some rebuilding in the early part of this century. The Bedfordshire Library website describes the ghost (
visit link) :
'The village of Willington is home to a manor house that was once used by Henry VIII and has undergone constant rebuilding in its long history. It was during refurbishment in the early twentieth century that a skeleton was discovered bricked up behind a wall. Some believe this gruesome discovery was linked to the hauntings which have been associated with the building. Though a ghost has never been seen, numerous unaccountable noises have been heard including heavy footsteps and the sound of bells.'
