Somerset Park - Oshawa, ON - Municipal Parks and Plazas on Waymarking.com

This park features a playground and some trailheads that lead off to different greenbelt areas. Some years ago now, there used to be a city run pool located in this park. Unfortunately with budget cuts and rising cost to maintain the pool, the city was forced to mothball it. They had a plan where they would fill it in with dirt for a few years until they had the money to fix it up and re-open it. Sadly that plan never came through and the pool sat for many years filled in with dirt. Eventually the city decided to scrap the pool completely when it was determined that it would be too great of a cost to re-furbish the pool back to a useable state.

From the satellite image I've included in the gallery you can see the pool in its mothballed state.
