The Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Community was founded in 1857. The Parish cemetery was established in 1869, and the Historic Church building was built in 1885 and renovated 1997. With the original church seating only 150, a new worship space that seats 1,100 was completed in 1991. Also on the 22 acres of church property are a convent inhabited by School Sisters of Notre Dame, and a 1/2-acre Parish garden that grows produce to be donated to area food shelves.
