[FR] L'arc de triomphe est elevé à la fin du XVIIe siècle à l'emplacement d'une des anciennes portes des remparts médiévaux. Edifié à la gloire de Louis XIV, il est orné de médaillons célébrant les actes qui marquent son règne (des vicoires militaires, le lancement du chantier du canal du Midi ou encore la révocation de l'Edit de Nantes).
[ENG] The Arch of Triumph was built in the late 17th century on the spot where an ancient door of the medieval ramparts once stood. Erected to the glory of Louis XIV, the Arch is adorned with medallions celebrating the highlights of the monarch's reign (military victories, inauguration of the Canal du Midi worksite or the revocation of the Edict of Nantes).
